One of our recent projects consisted of a small but complicated addition to an existing two unit residential building in an historic district. The addition contains 3 new units distributed across 4 stories above grade and one level below grade. The addition is shaped as a gentle arc that transitions between the existing row house and the southern end of the triangular-shaped lot and the addition is connected to the existing building at the second level. The project involved historic preservation review, project specific zoning interpretations, unusual site shape, demanding program parameters and complicated construction logistics on the tight, urban site that made for a difficult but rewarding project that is instantly recognizable as it is approached from 15th street and Florida Avenue. The project is fully leased.
