This loft-like concrete building is located in the Adams Morgan section of Washington DC and the second floor residential unit shown is located above a restaurant space on the street level. The unit was designed with three components:
1/ A focal-point, custom cabinet kitchen at one end of the living and dining space that stretches from side to side of that space,
2/ a matching focal point fireplace surround on the opposite wall approximately 40 feet away and
3/ a wall of custom wood and sand-blasted glass sliding doors that allow various adjacent spaces like the den and bedroom to be opened to the larger space when privacy is not required. A custom stainless steel door marks the entry space that is tucked back for the sliding door wall.
