Owner/Client: Private
This eight-unit residential project was designed for a location in NE Washington DC. Two studio units occupy the lower level, and a pair of one-bedroom units are located on each of the first and second levels. Two two-bedroom units occupy the third level with their second bedrooms on the fourth level. The third and fourth levels are connected by spiral stairs in each unit. The fourth level also offers private terraces for the top units and green roof areas. The building is sheathed with panel and plank siding, except the fourth level which is covered in architectural metal roofing. A ramp connecting the sidewalk with the lower-level entry, and elevator provide code-compliant ADA accessibility. The project required zoning and other review agency entitlement grants which were negotiated during the design process.
