A small, ranch style house in the Washington DC suburbs was expanded with a space for music practice and a matching bedroom addition opposite it across an exterior courtyard. Both pieces of the addition re-oriented the house to the lush backyard and were connected together by a new, rear circulation corridor along the back of the house that brought constant views of nature while moving through the spaces.
