An extensive renovation of a circa 1950’s 1.5 story Cape Cod style house in a close-in Washington neighborhood. The interior was gutted and the first floor opened up, in part, to the partial second floor with 2 story spaces lined with openings and translucent glass. Room separations are minimized to maximize the small house’s space and the needed stair is made a wood and steel focal point teamed with custom cabinetry that sweeps the eye upward when entering the home.
