This house was built circa 1910 and over the years, had fallen into disrepair. Although a large house with a grand stair and classic Craftsman-like architectural details, much of the house needed renovation and structural and systems repairs. The project consisted of two general phases:
• Interior Alterations that opened up the stairway to the surrounding spaces and added custom wainscoting and shelving around the stair’s perimeter, remodeled the kitchen, living room and dining room with new openings, added an attic level master bedroom suite and a second floor in-law suite and added custom trim and a custom fireplace surround,
• Re-shaping the rear addition and changing its roofline to better match the underlying Craftsman design, revising windows and trim details, remodeling and restoration of the side porch and re-cladding of the entire house in a sand-finish stucco
This extensive project also included structural repairs and mechanical and electrical systems upgrades and stretched over a period of approximately 14 months. When complete, the house was covered in several magazines and awards ceremonies, including Metropolitan Home.
